North Cape Women of the ELCA
The women of North Cape extend a welcome to visitors and friends who may want to become part of our active WELCA organization. We offer opportunities to become involved in the women's Bible study, Yoga, Mission Quilters, or Legacy Quilters or to volunteer throughout the church.

North Cape Mission Opportunities
for Involvement
Lutheran World Relief Mission Sewing Projects
Stretch your hearts and hands across the ocean to people in need by participating in LWR Parish Projects. By sharing tools for better health and education, there is new hope and dignity to thousands of women, children and men throughout the world. Ordinary things become extraordinary when they are assembled into LWR Parish Projects and shared as gifts of love and comfort. North Cape is one of many churches who sew quilts and supply filled school bags for those in need throughout the world.
Lutheran World Relief is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), individuals and parish groups in international relief, development, advocacy and social responsibility. The Mission Quilts and filled School Bags are shipped in October to Lutheran World Relief for the world's poorest of the poor. The North Cape Church in Society Ministry Team packs these items for shipping and delivers the boxes to the train in Sturtevant, along with hundreds of churches in the Milwaukee area.
Mission Quilter Group
This group meets Tuesday mornings at 9:00 AM in the church basement to sew quilts for Lutheran World Relief. They have an easy method of construction, from the begin quilter to the expert. Sewing Kits
We need help sewing school bags throughout the year -- you can even do this at home. This project has been a tradition for many years here at NCLC. Lutherdale Ministries
North Cape Legacy Quilters
The North Cape Legacy Quilters Group was started to teach quilting to members and to sew quilts for the Lutherdale Quilt Auction which is held in the fall. Lutherdale Ministries, located on Lauderdale Lakes north of Elkhorn, is a faith community, dedicated to building lives in Christ, through the wonder of God's creation, and the study of God's word. Please join us as we meet the first and third Thursday of each month from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
The Legacy Quilters have also made quilts to raise money for church youth mission trips and other fund raising in our community.

- Our Famous Fish Boil in September
- Special outings, usually a play and dinner
- Women's WELCA Luncheon
- Women Thankoffering Sunday in Fall with the displaying of quilts to go to Lutheran World Relief
- Senior Christmas Luncheon with entertainment at the Cotton Exchange
We are dedicated to mission work throughout the year locally and  worldwide:
- Mission work for Lutheran World Relief: quilts made throughout the year and the school bags filled with supplies for students.
- Operation Christmas: Funds given to local organizations to help families during the Christmas season
- Food Bank: Helping locally in area food banks
- Lutherdale: Providing funds for youth campers to attend retreats
For the church, there are many opportunities to volunteer:
- Hand made crossed stitched baptismal napkins
- Altar Guild: Volunteer opportunity to help with our prayer chain, Sunday fellowship treats/refreshments, setting up of communion for worship, special occasions volunteer, decorating for the different church seasons
