In February we are collecting laundry detergent and individually wrapped snacks for Kathy's House in Milwaukee. This organization provides housing for out of town patients and families seeking medical care in Milwaukee.
Our confirmation program begins in 7th grade and ends in the fall of the 10th grade year. Our 10th graders were confirmed on Sunday, October 27, 2024 during the 10:30 service. You may watch online through our YouTube channel, if you could not attend in person. Congratulations to Wyatt, Lucas, Zachary, Drew and Lorelei!
All confirmation students are expected to attend worship, complete sermon notes, volunteer for worship and service credits, and attend Sunday School. Students in Grades 8-9 also meet weekly in the fall for confirmation classes on Wednesday nights. Grade 9 students pair with an adult mentor and complete 4 activity modules together.

Don't let costs deter you. The Smerchek Fund is a special memorial fund administered through NCLC that awards $100 to all NCLC youth attending full week camps and $50 to those attending shorter camps. Contact the church office to coordinate payment to Lutherdale once your child is registered for camp.
Three generations of the Wittenberg family have had positive, impactful experiences at Lutherdale Bible Camp, and they wish to assist NCLC youth to also get a chance to experience camp for themselves. The new Wittenberg Family Lutherdale Scholarship program is funded and administered by the Wittenberg family, with daughter Christa as the main point of contact. This scholarship may be used along with Smerchek Funds to help fund your child's camp fees. Apply for partial or full fee coverage as is financially necessary for your family. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis and forms are due to Christa by June 1st for 2025 camps.
On Sunday, October 6, 2024, we held our annual Bible Sunday during both services. Spark Story Bibles were gifted to our 4K youth. Spark Bibles were gifted to our third graders, and Luther's Small Catechisms were gifted to our fourth graders. Students will use them in Sunday School and at home with their families.

Students receive First Communion in fifth grade at North Cape Lutheran Church on Maundy Thursday during worship. Prior to taking their First Communion, fifth graders and their parents participate in classes, a retreat, and bake bread used during the service. The First Communion service on Maundy Thursday involves a special time for foot washing where each communicant receives a personalized towel and families join their communicant at the altar for communion.
Eighth and ninth grade students attend confirmation classes on Wednesday nights in the fall. Online and make up options are available if class is missed.
